Simple Truths

For centuries and perhaps even beyond that, people have been in search of the “truth”. Religions all claim to have it, yet no one can come to a decision as to what exactly that is. Wars have been fought for truth in the name of Christ, Allah, Buddha etc.,but it seems that the actual search is more about whose truth is the correct one. We were all born with the innate instinct and knowledge of right and wrong. All truths lie in the humility that lives in the hearts of people who never judge, who just live life according to the natural laws of the earth -living life simply according to these natural laws encompasses all of what every religion in the world teaches.

What complicates the quest for truth, is tradition. If anyone were to look at religion, they would see that there is much similarity in what each one is saying. But, because there are so many traditions and beliefs that have been handed down from different countries and cultures, many spiritual gatherings, church services and ceremonies differ greatly depending on what part of the world they are in.  The quest for “the correct path” or the “truth” has brought about  much discord amongst nations and races  and has also sadly divided friends and families.

Is there a need to push and proselytize as to HOW and in WHOM people need to believe in in their search for the truth?  It seems that there should be so much to learn and admire from one another, and the differences we all have ought to be celebrated. Once again, if we lived simply according to how nature dictates, we would hear much, learn plenty and follow what our hearts tell us without judgement of others. We complicate things. Spirituality is a beautiful, necessary thing. We all possess spirit and soul. We wouldn’t have depth of understanding otherwise. Respecting each and every human being as well as the beautiful natural world we have been blessed to inhabit is of utmost importance. It is actually what each religion teaches, but we don’t hear it! Unfortunately, in many ways, “teachings” seem to have been interpreted for us, and we, like sheep follow and just do those things we think we are “supposed” to do.

So many people have died needlessly in the quest for truth due to fear. The crusades is a prime example of terrible things having been done to others in the name of  religion and  truth. In no way does any one religion  every say to do anything at any cost to convert people to their faith. Love is all encompassing, and this alone will bring understanding of the many truths of life in our world.

As such, love is an integral part that makes up one of the most important  foundations of truth.  Love helps you to see clearly. Having a clean heart makes you serve mankind without judgement, without preconceived notions of any kind ,and makes giving to others come easily and naturally without any jealousy. Life rewards us tenfold when we unselfishly do things for others reflexively without judgement and love, and there is nothing more satisfying than to be giving such a gift. Sometimes this means compromising, having patience or other times sacrificing. In the end, the reward is far more satisfying than anything else! One’s heart soars, and there is just such a feeling of well being that there are no words to explain it. Peace reigns in our lives, and those kind of moments are indelibly stamped in our hearts.

Isn’t peace ultimately what everyone in the world is looking for? The simple truth is that we hold the key to all that, but in the complicated turn of events of our worldly life, we forget how to achieve it because of all the layers upon layers of religious or even agnostic  “truths” that everyone wants to prove as being the right way, or the right path.

Everyone has a spiritual journey that is individual and takes them to their truth. Each person’s life is different, with different life lessons to learn. There is no right or wrong way of going about it, no wrong or right way of believing and there is no timeline for it.  The foundations of truth, no matter what guise it takes is built on being able to judge no one, loving purely of heart, and respecting all that the world gives us and putting it in its proper perspective. In turn, this brings and builds peace, which is ultimately what everyone has been searching for since the beginning of time.

As we enter the holiday season and move forward towards the beginning of a new year, let’s open our hearts and learn from our beautiful and wonderfully diverse world and truly get to experience the path to our own simple truths.
