Music is universal. Everyone enjoys it in one form or another. It is to put simply, food for the soul. No matter what kind of music you listen to, it sets a mood, a tone and usually lifts the spirits. You can set fire and make your body want to rock with the rhythm, sing along, or just listen and be in your own private world.
Classical music can reach places deep in the soul with its orchestral timbres- the delicate flute, fiery or weeping violin, and all the rest as they blend the many beautiful musical instruments that reprise and make up a symphony orchestra. Waltzes, Marches, Fuges, Librettos, and finally, the ever expressive Opera. Voices that amaze with its ability to go places you couldn’t imagine. Close your eyes, sit back and hear all the nuances. Quiet that builds stronger and stronger to a crashing crescendo. Notes that transport you to another world altogether, leaving a feeling of majesty. It soothes, lulls, emotes and of course, entertains.
Good old fashioned rock and roll gets everyone moving and singing! When one hears a song from yesteryear, it brings you right back, making you feel like a teenager and all the memories that go with it. Today’s pop music – techno, rap and all the rest, give rise to particular moods and of course, dancing. The acoustical guitars, drums, keyboards along with the voices all jam together to make a song just quite literally ROCK. Whatever type it is, music makes the body want to move in time with the beat. It is a great mood booster and if you’re ever feeling blue, hasn’t listening to a song just made your heart happier? There was a time in the teen years, when all we did in our lives was set to music. A song for every mood!
There are different kinds of music from all over the world. Each nationality has its own genre of music that belongs to their culture, whether it is instrumental in nature, using just voices, or a mix of it all. It brings about emotions and can reach out and tell you the flavor and history of the people. Music has been around since the beginning of time. It is knit into our everyday existence, and is simply needed by humans as a means of expression.
Remember to make it a part of your life. It feeds the soul and makes everyone FEEL- a very necessary emotion.
So, sing, dance and express yourself!
My heart is singing praises of your writings! You are so expressive, and I resonate with your messages! “I’ve got the music in me. I’ve got the music in me. I’ve got the music in me.” Do you recall who sang that song?”
